Tom Cahill addresses Bloomberg Arts interns, Summer 2025

Tom Cahill believes that art has a vital role in our communities; the arts inspire new ways of seeing, feeling, and knowing. Based on this belief, Room for Art was created in 2026 to present the work of contemporary artists and to provide arts engagement opportunities for diverse audiences in the Hudson Valley. 

Cahill is an encaustic painter with decades of experience developing collaborations and partnerships between artists, cultural institutions, and communities. He has served as an instructor at the Brooklyn Museum of Art, Pratt Institute, and the School of Visual Arts, and as President, Studio in a School, NYC.

He has a BFA from the School of Visual Arts and an MFA from New York University. In 2004, he received an honorary Doctor of Fine Arts degree from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY, for his vision and significant impact on artists and arts education.
